Terms of service
Plain terms for IT support and website work with PapsLab.
Last updated: 2 Oct 2026
1. Who I am
PapsLab is an online-first IT support and website service for households and small businesses. It is a one-person practice, so in these terms “I” and “me” mean PapsLab. For questions, email [email protected].
2. Scope of service
I provide remote IT support, setup, security help, and website design and build, scoped for each job. For paid work, we agree a written quote (email is fine) before the work you are paying for starts. There is no monthly contract unless one is agreed in writing for that job.
3. Payment basis
Where the job has a clear, closed scope, we can agree a fixed amount in writing. For exploratory or open-ended work, I may use a time basis with a not-to-exceed cap agreed before work goes ahead.
4. Payment
I accept payment by bank transfer, Revolut, or any other method agreed in writing. Due dates and any deposit are set out in the written quote for that job.
5. Cancellations
You may cancel before I start the agreed work at no cost. Work already done is invoiced in proportion. If I have already purchased non-returnable materials or licences specifically for you, I may pass those on at cost if I said so in advance.
6. Warranties
I use reasonable care and skill, but I cannot guarantee a particular result for every problem (for example, data that cannot be recovered, or hardware the manufacturer no longer supports). Where I supply hardware, the manufacturer’s warranty applies as stated on the product or invoice.
7. Liability
My liability for any one engagement is limited to the amount you have paid me for that engagement. I am not liable for indirect or consequential loss (for example, lost profit, business interruption, or third-party charges) except where the law does not allow that limit.
8. Data
I process personal data in line with the Privacy notice for any information you share with me in the course of a job or enquiry.
9. Intellectual property
Documents I prepare specifically for you as part of a job are yours. Generic scripts, snippets, or configuration patterns I re-use from job to job remain my background know-how, but you receive a perpetual, non-exclusive licence to use the materials I hand over for the systems I supported.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Ireland. The Irish courts have jurisdiction. Nothing in these terms limits your non-waivable rights as a consumer under Irish law.
11. Changes to these terms
I may update these terms when the services or policies change. I will use reasonable means to flag material changes to existing customers (for example, by email on the next invoice or renewal). The date at the top of this page is updated when the text changes.
